Applications Suitable for Grease

Grease and oil are not interchangeable. Grease is used when it is not practical or convenient to use oil. The lubricant choice for a specific application is determined by matching the machinery design and operating conditions with desired lubricant characteristics. Grease is generally used for:

1. Machinery that runs intermittently or is in storage for an extended period of time. Because grease remains in place, a lubricating film can instantly form.

2. Machinery that is not easily accessible for frequent lubrication. High-quality greases can lubricate isolated or relatively inaccessible components for extended periods of time without frequent replenishing. These greases are also used in sealed-for-life applications such as some electrical motors and gearboxes.

3. Machinery operating under extreme conditions such as high temperatures and pressures, shock loads or slow speed under heavy load.

4. Worn components. Grease maintains thicker films in clearances enlarged by wear and can extend the life of worn parts that were previously lubricated by oil.

Servogem EP greases are premium quality lithium soap base products containing an extreme pressure additive. In addition, Servoprime oils give outstanding performance in hydraulic systems, circulating lubrication systems, enclosed bearings and other industrial machines in which long trouble free service of lubricant is required. Servoprime LP oils are meant for low temperature applications such as Rotoflow expanders and Turbo compressors used in refrigerationapplications.

  Servomesh SP oils are premium quality industrial gear lubricants having excellent thermal and oxidation stability, good demulsibility, low foaming tendency and provide rust and corrosion protection to metal surfaces. Servomesh SP oils meet AGMA standard 250.04, ASLE standard G-315, G-1000, G-1500, G 2150, IS:8406-1993, US Steel requirement No. 222 and 224 and IPSS:1-09-003 specifications. Lithon EP-2 (Steel) is an extreme pressure grease designed for sponge iron steel plants and other general applications requiring extreme purpose grease having high weld load.

Mobil SHC™ 600 Series lubricants are exceptional performance gear and bearing oils designed to provide outstanding service in terms of equipment protection, oil life and problem-free operation helping to enable increased customer productivity. These scientifically engineered oils are formulated using the latest proprietary and patent pending Mobil SHC technology to provide outstanding and balanced performance in demanding applications at high and low temperatures. Mobil SHC 600 products feature excellent low temperature properties, as well as improved air release performance in the lower viscosity grades. These products are resistant to mechanical shear, even in heavily loaded gear and high shear bearing applications, so that there is virtually no loss of viscosity.
Mobil SHC 600 Series products have low traction coefficients relative to mineral oils which derive from the molecular structure of the base stocks used. This results in low fluid friction in the load zone of non-conforming surfaces such as gears and rolling contact bearings. Low fluid friction produces lower operating temperatures and improved gear efficiency, which translates into reduced power consumption. Mobil SHC 600 Series products have demonstrated up to 3.6% improvement in energy efficiency in controlled laboratory testing(*). Mobil SHC 600 Series formulation also provides excellent resistance to oxidation and deposit formation at elevated temperatures, as well as exceptional resistance to rusting and corrosion, antiwear, demulsibility, foam control and air release properties, and multi-metal compatibility. Mobil SHC 600 Series oils maintain good compatibility with seals and other materials used in equipment normally lubricated with mineral oils.

Description of first aid measures General information Get medical attention immediately. Show this Safety Data Sheet to the medical personnel. Inhalation Remove affected person from source of contamination. Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as collar, tie or belt. When breathing is difficult, properly trained personnel may assist affected person by administering oxygen. Place unconscious person on their side in the recovery position and ensure breathing can take place. Ingestion Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Give a few small glasses of water or milk to drink. Stop if the affected person feels sick as vomiting may be dangerous. Do not induce vomiting unless under the direction of medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Place unconscious person on their side in the recovery position and ensure breathing can take place. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as collar, tie or belt. Skin Contact Rinse with water. Eye contact Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide
